Spy Kids 2: Island of Lost Dreams


Carmen Cortez and Juni Cortez have become agents of the OSS and face particularly hard competition with Gary (Matt O'Leary) and Gerti Giggles (Emily Osment), the children of double-dealing agent Donnagon Giggles (Mike Judge), whom Carmen and Juni helped to rescue in the previous film. Donnagon was made the president of the OSS. Donnagon wants to steal the "transmooker", a device that can shut off all electronic devices, so he can take control of the world. Carmen and Juni follow the trail to a mysterious island, which is home to Romero (Steve Buscemi), a lunatic scientist. Romero has been attempting to create genetically-miniaturized animals, but has instead ended up with mutated "monsters" populating the island. After a number of action sequences, such as fighting skeletons and being captured by sporks, the spy kids (with the help of their family, Romero and Gerti Giggles) destroy the transmooker and defeat Donnagon, who is then fired by the president. Juni quits afterwards due to the impersonal treatment of agents by the OSS.

Creatures

On the island are strange creatures that are a fusion of two animals created by Romero. Among these creatures are:

  • Spider-Monkeys - Half monkey, half spider
  • Slizzards - Half snake, half lizard
  • Catfish - Half cat, half fish
  • Spork - Half pig, half stork
  • Bullfrog - Half bull, half frog
  • A kangaroo with the head and shell of a turtle.
  • Horsefly - Horse with a fly's head
  • A shark head on a tiger's body -- a literal tiger shark.
  • Sheep-dog - sheep with head of a dog
